For his graduation concert, German guitarist Darius Koszewski presents an evening of original music written throughout the course of his studies - a personal reflection of his growth as both composer and performer during his time in Tilburg. Rooted in modern jazz while drawing inspiration from progressive rock and contemporary music, his compositions combine strong melodic storytelling with rhythmic playfulness and subtle complexity.
Performed by an unconventional quartet featuring electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass, and drums, the music explores contrasts between melancholy and hope, intimacy and intensity. Written specifically for the musicians on stage, the repertoire highlights the individual character and voice
of each player within the ensemble. With a focus on atmosphere and accessibility, the program invites listeners into a world of sound
where complex musical ideas remain clear and emotionally direct
