Wannes is a 23 year old jazz composition student from Antwerp. He is known as the bass player and vocalist of Owls and Orcas, and has also worked as a producer for artists such as Nisan Beyez and Sophie Louisa. On June 23rd, he will perform his solo project at Paradox. His music brings together elements of alternative pop and jazz, with room for both intimate piano songs and more groove-based material. Although he originally started as a guitarist, Wannes has developed into a versatile musician with a broad interest in different styles. This variety is also reflected in his own songs.
For this 40-minute set, he will be joined by musicians from Tilburg and Antwerp: Lode, Fraussen, Bas Mertens, Koen Oberye, Tren Peters, and backing vocalists Deni and Annabel. Together they will perform the music Wannes has written over the past years at Fontys.
