Nordic Ensemble 19:40-20:00
The Nordic Ensemble plays music inspired by the Nordic Jazz scene and the ECM label, characterized by the use of atmosphere and texture, as well as strong melodies. The repertoire consists of compositions by modern ECM artists like Mathias Eick and Wolfgang Muthspiel, which will be performed by Otti Overdevest (v), Dario Ciraulo (git), Wenqian Li (p), Sarah van der Klis (b) and Can Köylu (dr). This ensemble promises a night a of intuitive and intellectual playing, with a variety of moods and collective improvisation.

The Brazilian Ensemble brings together a diverse collective of enthousiast musicians dedicated to explore the era of Brazilian music; from the soulful depths of Bossa Nova to the high-energy pulse of Samba. With a unique lineup featuring energetic singing and harmony and a powerhouse rhythm section, the ensemble delivers a performance that will quickly make you experience the vibe of the Brazilian element. Fontys Big-Band 20:55-21:25
The Fontys Big Band, founded in the nineties, is the beating heart of the jazz programme at Fontys Conservatorium in Tilburg. Under the direction of Maino Remmers, the orchestra explores a diverse range of jazz styles and pop music, from swing to salsa and fusion to rock. While rooted in the American swing repertoire and the rich tradition of the American songbook, the band also ventures into Latin jazz and contemporary music. With a strong emphasis on timing, section playing, phrasing, and dynamics, students develop their skills through standard big band arrangements and beyond.
